Avoid MBL Construction Ltd and Marin Bernevec – Extremely Disappointing Experience Hiring MBL Construction Ltd, managed by Marin Bernevec, turned into a deeply regrettable experience during our home renovation in 2023. Despite providing clear written instructions, we encountered numerous issues that significantly impacted our property and finances: * Significant Property Damage: Interior walls were damaged, our original 1860 sash window frames were cut without permission, and ceilings were lowered by 30cm instead of the requested 10cm. Incorrectly ordered radiators also resulted in extra, unrecoverable costs. * Damaged Belongings: Despite assurances, several valuable pieces of furniture and personal items were damaged due to inadequate protection during the work. * Structural Concerns: Flooring was raised by 16cm rather than levelled, which altered room proportions in our Victorian property. Large holes were left in the floor when the original boards were removed, creating hazardous conditions. * Unsafe Workmanship: Plumbing and electrical work had to be completely redone by another contractor. Two of the ceilings installed later collapsed, posing a serious safety risk to subsequent builders. We incurred over £46,000 in additional costs including repairs, rent for temporary accommodation, storage, and hiring a new contractor while also preparing for the arrival of our baby. We pursued a small claims court case and won, but the director did not attend the hearing and compensation remains unresolved. Throughout the project, we experienced a lack of continuity, with different workers arriving on site each day. This raised serious concerns about accountability and consistency in the work carried out. We strongly advise anyone considering MBL Construction Ltd to carefully reconsider. Our experience was not only financially and emotionally exhausting, but also left us with lasting stress and disruption during a vulnerable time. We can only hope that sharing our experience helps others avoid a similar situation. John

This is the second job I have had with Marin and the team in to do. They installed a fabulous kitchen for me 2+ years ago and I can't praise their work highly enough. This time they transformed my front garden, wall, pathway, porch and bay window from something that looked like it belonged to a condemned building into a home I'm proud of! I was so impressed with the quality of their work, which they delivered well within budget. There is such an attention to detail and a real pride in what they do. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone, for any job large or small. I would happily have them back again for any project in my home.

We did loft conversion,extension and interior refurbishment with Marin and his team We satisfied with quality of the works ,job timing and management We agreed 6 months for whole job completition, job was done in 4 months and 2 weeks. Everything was cleaned up after the job was done. The price is also really reasonable. Friendly stuff, will definitely recommend!

We worked with MBL on a flat refurbishment. The outcome was satisfactory and within our budget plan despite some design changes from our side. Most of the work were done by subcontractors, which were of varying quality. Those that were not satisfactory were replaced and covered by MBL. This did however result in delay of time. Majority of the work completed more or less on time, with the exception of joinery items that were contracted to a company recommended by Marin, this resulted in the longest delay in the project. Electrical and plumbing work were done well. Since most of the work were done by subcontractor, it required our attention and presence during the work to manage the progress of the project, which might not be possible for others to do.

Marin the boss and his team were able to carry out work related to a property in the development according to the prescribed work by the surveyor. The owner of the property was satisfied with the completed work. Standard of the end product was very good. They left the place tidy. Their pricing was reasonable. Marin does not do the actual work but he is accommodating and always is present when required to assist. They are intending do carry out more work in the development.
